Youngsters enjoy fishing and wildlife

Afasic Cymru angling projectThe joint venture with Angling Cymru had given the youngsters the opportunity to get out and about in the countryside whilst trying something new. The sport of angling provided a healthy and inexpensive opportunity for the youngsters and parents to interact in attractive surroundings.

It was not just the fishing, but an opportunity to see a variety of wildlife, to enjoy learning about the ecology and appreciating nature first hand. A perfect day, with everyone catching fish and the weather being kind, all topped off by ice cream and pancakes at the fishery cafe before driving home.

This was the first of two such mini ‘courses’ planned between Angling Cymru and Afasic Cymru, with the second being held in Flintshire later in the summer.
